About Founder, owner, & Mediator: Libby Pritchard
I created Phase Vision in 2016 after completing two Master's degrees at Oregon State University because I wanted to pursue my passion for conflict management. I frequently ask my clients at the beginning of workshops to, "share something important" about themselves and most people start with their credentials: where they went to school, what their role is at the company, how long they have been in their position, etc. However, our credentials are usually not the most important things about ourselves. Our work is what we do - the people, places, and hobbies in our lives are who we are. This is how I approach my meditation and facilitation practice. You and your story are the most important part of my job. Frequently stories will conflict (which is why my clients call in the first place), but we are all people with values we hold dear. My goal each time I facilitate a meeting, work as a mediator, or address interpersonal conflicts is to honor each person in the room and help them find a path forward with dignity, respect, and understanding.
On that note, I would like to share some important things about me - followed, of course, by some credentials. First, I am an athlete. I played collegiate volleyball all four years of undergrad and was part of a DIII team that still holds a NCAA record for longest conference winning streak. Although I do not play anymore due to an injury, I still identify as an athlete and have found fulfillment as a coach and am a lifelong supporter and lover of the sport. Second, I am happiest when serving something greater than myself; this is why I pursue mediation and facilitation. Third, I am a self-labeled professional nerd. In addition to being a mediator I am a social scientist, lover of trivia, and am continually longing to learn about more fields of study - and learn how I can apply my mediation skills to new sectors and people. Someday I would like to get my PhD, but the biggest challenge for me is picking which one because I feel overwhelmed with good options.
Now I'd like to share my credentials. I have two Master's of Science degrees from Oregon State University and an Environmental Science Bachelor's degree from Juniata College. My first MS degree is in Water Policy and Management and the second is in Geography with a focus on geomorphology. Both MS theses can be found through Oregon State University's ScholarsArchive@OSU (or accessed directly via the resources page). I also obtained a Certificate in Water Conflict Management and Transformation from OSU, am a certified miner, and am a practicing data analytics and database management professional.
